She completed the Navrongo Senior High Secondary School, 1996. She obtained Diploma in Basic Education from the University of Education, Winneba, 2011. Mavis had her first degree at the University of Education Winneba, 2015 in Guidance and Counselling. She is currently teaching at Daboase Senior high Technical School in the Western Region. She is the senior house mistress and the school’s Guidance and Counselling Coordinator.  Mavis serves as the Women’s Commissioner for STMA zone in Takoradi and a member of the Regional Audit committee. She was appointed the first chairperson for the Council of Elders of the CCT GH. A member of the CCT Fund Board of Trustees
